About Us
This is an effort from a brother of the Craft in Illinois (OL33 of the GL of IL AFAM, PM). The desire is to provide an easy way for lodges to coordinate degrees and better track and plan their proficiencies.
The Solution
The purpose
Coordinating a degree is no easy process. It often involves lots of emails, texts, and phone calls. And, waiting to hear back from individuals that are trying to coordinate with other life obligations – other events, family obligations, and professional obligations. This solution is an attempt to streamline the process, and also provide a platform for individual proficiency tracking and planning in a manner that is organic to the lodge.
Later versions will incorporate texting and the ability for individuals to self-volunteer to assist fellow lodges, either in a proximity or by explicitly listing lodges.
This solution is capable of incorporating different degrees of ritual-based organizations. During this beta period, we welcome the breadth of Blue Lodges that include recognized PHA lodges, and recognized appended bodies. Other traditions will be considered; this is for the good of society.
How it works
An officer of the lodge can now easily orchestrate a degree by pulling up a degree instance, assigning individuals based on proficiency, and having the solution email requests to the individuals. The individuals can simply respond by clicking on links in the email and the person coordinating the degree can easily see who has accepted or declined. Reminder emails with full slate information can be sent to all participants in an automated manner.
For tracking proficiencies, a secretary can simple email self-assessments to members, and the responses are collected by Stonecutter for degree planning and proficiency planning.

Who is doing this?
I am a brother under the GL of IL, AF&AM. In the community, I can be identified pretty easily by O33-PM.
Who would use this solution?
This was designed to help any organization coordinating rituals and tracking proficiencies.
While the initial focus is on Blue lodge Masonic ritual, it can easily be extended to appended bodies. It also can be utilized by other ritualist organizations.
Is this connected with the Grand Lodge organizations or another other larger entity?
No.
Will my lodge eventually be asked to pay for this?
At some point, we will transition to asking lodges to pay a nominal annual fee. Our goal is to make the solution accessible but provide a path for Stonecutter to be self-sustaining.
Is the lodge information we enter kept private?
Yes. We will not share any information about the lodge or its members with any other individual or entity including associated governing entities (e.g. G Ls). Your information is secured for your lodge.
Is the membership information secure?
Yes. The steward of this effort and his team have developed secure business applications and are well versed in security best practices in cloud applications. Your information is secured using best practices used by the industry.
